The Space

Hope’s Hideaway is our largest cottage and the base for larger groups and families staying at the farm. It is a beautiful and very characterful barn which has been recently been updated, creating a lovely large Kitchen and dining area which has the capacity to cater for everyone on site.

With four bedrooms sleeping 8 + guests, You’ll find this cottage very spacious with a beautiful apexed roof modern kitchen/dining area as well as a stunning galleried lounge and games area with a pool table,  exposed beams and tasteful furnishings. It has all the amenities you need for a lovely relaxing break away in the Peak District National Park.

On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen, snug and dining area under a high apex roof, the kitchen has modern stainless steel work surfaces and ambient lighting. There is a large Range cooker, 2 large fridge freezers, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and all the crockery and equipment you need for your stay. The open plan dining area has long farmhouse tables to seat everyone, whether for a small group or to host a party for everyone on site.

The four bedrooms are all unique with comfortable beds as well as luxury furnishings. These include a large ground floor double four poster bedroom that has access to the outside garden, in addition this room is close to the two downstairs bathrooms, one with a bath and one a walk-in shower. Though not classed as assessable the downstairs bedroom and bathrooms are easily managed by those less mobile. Also on the ground floor are two lovely twin bedrooms.

Up the wooden staircase is another double bedroom with a an occasional toddler bed.

Running along the top floor of this cottage and under original oak trusses and beams you will find a lovely open plan lounge area fitted with comfy sofas, a smart TV and Wifi as well as a super league pool table!

Hopes Hideaway works well on its own but can also be hired for group bookings with the other courtyard properties Bremen’s Barn  and Reuben’s Roost

As a cottage in itself it is completely private. You have your own parking areas as well as outside seating, dining and BBQ area. The enclosed gardens are shared with the courtyard properties and we also mow a couple of fields for games and there are plenty of quiet areas as well as lots of space around the farm for our guests to use. So, if privacy is what you want then there are lots of places on the farm to find it.

Our policy is that nothing is a problem and all our guests are welcome to explore the acres of farm grounds including fields, woods, and pond area, all with the stunning scenery and ideal for games, picnicking even sledging! You can set up a treasure hunt, find and alpaca or goat to say hello to and have an adventure!

If you look at the “helpful information page” you will find a wealth of information to help you, this includes things to do, places to visit and details of local pubs, takeout’s and restaurants as well as recommendations for extra activities. We are always happy to help and if you would like us to reserve a table at one of our local pubs or restaurants, we are very happy to do that. Chatsworth House and Alton Towers are both close enough to enjoy a day out. The local towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton are from 15-20 minutes’ drive away and all provide excellent shopping and tourist facilities.

Please don’t forget your walking boots and wellies as there are stunning walks straight from the door. The area surrounding us is beautiful and the farm borders National Trust land, Dovedale is only a short stroll down the valley as is Thors Cave and there are many stunning walks both by foot or a short journey by car to go and explore.

The Farm is also Home to Dovedale Animal Sanctuary and we lend ourselves to guests who love animals and would like to come meet and greet them as well as join us when we invite you to help us feed them! The animals are always grateful if you bring a spare carrot and apple or two as they are rather greedy, you can then collect eggs for breakfast though the hens may join you as they all roam around the farm.  All 100 or so animals at the farm are rescued, except Ozzi-bear one of our own dogs, and you are welcome to bring your own pet to join you on your holiday and we are sure they would love to explore the area just as much as you will.

If you would like to get away from it all and stay on our lovely farm, meet our alpacas, goats, ponies and sheep as well as all the ducks, chickens and geese you’d be very welcome and we would love to meet you and welcome you to the farm for any occasion
