Bremen’s Barn

Bremen’s Barn is a warm and welcoming 4 bedroomed luxury barn conversion situated around a lovely courtyard on our working farm which is home to Dovedale Animal Sanctuary where we have rescued alpacas, goats and a number of other farm animals.

The farm is situated in the white peak area of the Peak District and nestled between Dovedale and the Manifold Rivers and is a perfect base for exploring all the Peak District has to offer, with stunning walks straight from the door and a range of great local pubs, country houses and fantastic walks and bike trails to discover.   

You’ll find this cottage full of character with exposed beams and tasteful furnishings as well as all the amenities you need for a lovely relaxing break away in this stunning part of the world.

With four bedrooms sleeping 7 + guests, as well as an occasional single chair bed in the upstairs double room, Bremen’s Barn it is a perfect get away for family and friends. You can also pair this cottage with Hope’s Hideaway or Reuben’s Roost to accommodate for large groups as a party house.
The large open plan kitchen, dining and living area spreads all across the upper floor where amongst the lovely furnishings you can relax on large comfy sofas in a beautiful room with original exposed beams and oak trusses. This area is perfect for relaxing,  with its open plan layout that enables you to cook, dine and mingle together. 
The kitchen has all the amenities you need, including two under counter fridges, a freezer, a dishwater and electric cooker as well as all the crockery and items you need for a break away. On the same level and past the antique settle on the landing you will find an upstairs bedroom (the green room) with exposed beams and a single chair bed for a toddler or small person!
On the ground floor at the end of the hallway is a beautiful four poster bedroom, with antique mirrors and furnished in dark wood which makes this room medieval in appearance and cosy and warm.  Next door is a small bedroom with lovely furnishings and a single bed with a pull-out trundle to make a double if needed. Opposite this room is a bathroom with a full bath.
Further down the landing and past the antique pony and trap seat, you will find another bathroom with a shower cubicle, and across from this near the entrance door is another lovely double bedroom with drapes over the bed. (the pink room)
This cottage has its own hot water and central heating and there is a separate laundry room on site with a washing machine that guests are welcome to use. All the permanent beds are made up to welcome you and we provide a travel cot and highchairs.
There is a TV DVD which is connected to free-sat and there are a selection of DVDs to enjoy.
Wi-Fi is good at the farm with recently installed Fibre, so working is also an option, otherwise put aside your technology and  spend time together, relax  and go back in time for a few days.
We provide a little welcome pack of necessities to get you going but please be aware that all our accommodation is self-catering and you will need to provide all of your toiletries as well as all your food and provisions. 
Bremen’s Barn is often hired for group bookings but is also perfect as a standalone cottage. It is self-catering and completely private. You have your own parking areas as well as outside seating, dining and BBQ area.
The enclosed gardens are shared with the courtyard properties and we also mow a couple of fields for games and there are plenty of quiet areas as well as lots of space around the farm for our guests to use. You are also welcome to explore the fields, wood, pond and other farm areas and we encourage you to make yourselves at home during your stay.
If you look at the helpful information page” you will find a wealth of information to help you, this includes things to do, places to visit and details of local pubs, takeout’s and restaurants as well as recommendations for extra activities. We are always happy to help and if you would like us to reserve a table at one of our local pubs or restaurants, we are very happy to do that.
Please don’t forget your walking boots and wellies as there are stunning walks straight from the door. The areas surrounding us are beautiful and the farm borders National Trust land, we are close to Chatsworth House and Alton Towers as well as many scenic routes and places of interest.
Pets are welcome in Bremen’s Barn and we have two mini labradoodles and in addition the farm is home to Dovedale Animal Sanctuary. All our animals have been rescued and we have alpacas, goats, ponies, sheep and a number of ducks, chickens and geese that you are welcome to go and say hello to and hopefully feed during your stay! Plus, if our hens are laying then you are welcome to collect free-range farm eggs from the hen house! First dibs!
